I found this story sick and sad.

Yes. I vaguely remember when the movie came out. Strokes and folks.

I didn't realize there was a movie made about it. I had my daughter on my lap while I was reading it and thought how sad I would be if she stayed in love with the man who had her disfigured.

That is just nuts. I can't help but to think of the first wife too. He cheats on her, she stays with him, he goes to prison, she stays with him, but then he divorces her and marries the nutjob that he had blinded.
