Pulling together paperwork for our IRS paper audit.

I feel like the tax gods picking on me :-). 3 audits in 3 years (1 state (MA wanted us to pay state income tax for the year after we moved) and 2 federal).

How does that work? Do you just get a letter saying you are being audited and they tell you what paperwork they need? What a pain.

That sucks! States really try and stick it to you when you move.

yup. We are being audited for dependents and child care credit so basically I have to send in the kids birth certificates proving they are ours along with all our bills from daycare.

So annoying. We had to do this for my H for his SL interest from 3 yrs ago.
