I am a finalist for a professional fellowship in my field of education. I have a day-long interview with a committee. Not sure if I should wear a suit or just something professional like a dress. I don't own a suit anymore so I'm kind of nervous that I may have to buy one. It's so hard to find something that fits me that I'll wear again. I don't ever wear blazers. Any other teachers have this kind of situation?
If you are a finalist, that means there are others you are up against, in this case, I would have to say suit, sorry! This is the type of situation where you want to look your most professional.
Do you know of anyone that you could borrow a suit from? Otherwise you can try Marshalls/TJ Maxx for cheaper options.
Suit for sure. You can do a classic sleeveless shift dress with a matching fabric blazer as a quasi suit.
This is sort of what I was thinking, but without the blazer-y thing. Guess I'll have to get the blazer-y thing.
I'm sure this won't happen here but I once wore a suit to an interview that was at a super casual place, and my interviewer actually asked me "why on earth" I was wearing a suit. I think I've been scarred for life.
