I start to worry when they hit 103.something, then I look for other troublesome signs. I took N in last month when his rectal was 104.2, it was an ear infection.

I've heard 104+ is er territory, but I'm not sure. When m had 102.5 we called the doc. But for 100.4 or so I just give the drugs and don't worry too much. The doc said with teething they can get a mild fever quite often.
Also if she's behaving fine I wouldn't worry. When matilda had 102+ fever she got extremely fussy and seemed not herself which prompted the temp taking. I feel like I'm terrible at judging with Hand on forehead!
My pedi said in the baby world it isn't even a temp. until 100.5 because they naturally are hotter? I don't know. I would worry when they start to not act themselves/hot to the touch (like, burning).

Tyler had a fever for a few days last week. We called the pedi when it was 102. He said that as long as Tyler was still eating, drinking, wetting diapers, and in a good mood, he didn't need to see us.
