I weighed S today at the public health clinic and he weighed 18 lbs 15 oz. He was last weighed Nov. 19 and weighed 18 lbs 2 oz. He has only increased in length by 3/4 of an inch. I know there is a slow down at some point but he is only just getting mobile. So I wasn't expecting it yet. He has always been in the 50th percentile and this slips him down to between 10-20th. Should I be concerned? Is it worth a doctor's appt.? My doctor doesn't do 9month appt so our next checkup isn't until 12 months.
I cant speak for weight but Mila went from 63% in height at 6 months to 2% at 9 months. The doctor wasn't alarmed at all. I hope that makes you feel a little better!

You are in Canada, right?
If so, I am not sure about your whole healthcare system and whether you can just see the doctor anytime you want. I would say that it never hurts to call the pedi if you are concerned about something. They will let you know if they want to see you or if they think everything is ok.
I also wouldn't worry. When they start moving around they tend to take a "break" from all that growing. If they grew at the same rate all the time babies would be huge Unless your gut tells you something is wrong, I'd say it's normal. Both my kids stayed the same weight around this time due to all the mobility - even if he's just recently getting mobile, this age is pretty normal for them to plateau a bit. DS2 has been 8.5kg since forever. He's grown in length, but not weight at all.
Yes we are in Canada so I can see my doctor whenever we want. We tried more than one scale to make sure! Thanks for the help I will leave it for now and weigh again in a few weeks.
