Edie is in a 2T. Adeline could wear a 2T in most things except jeans, and jeans don't fit her legs anyway. I'm contemplating when I do the room switch (if I do the room switch), that I should just consolidate their wardrobes and use one dresser and just share all clothes.

I don't see why not? Sounds awesome that they can share right now! That probably won't last long though, right? Then splitting up their clothes might get annoying at that point.
My sister and I are 17 months apart and grew up sharing a room, clothes, and shoes. I can't remember any issues until we were in our preteens and started fighting over certain items. We both had our own drawer of underwear, but besides that everything else was shared.

Neither of them have very many clothes. I do one load of laundry a week and before that load, they are almost out of clothes. Right now, we keep all Edie's shoes, sheets, medicine, extra diapers, etc., in her dresser.
I think I might be able to easily merge their clothes at this point and move all the non-clothes to Adeline's dresser, which is our TV stand in the living room.
I feel like I could have shared drawers of mutually fitting stuff, then each have their own drawer of their own stuff. Edie has 6 drawers and we only use 2 for clothes!
