My sister just started seeing a great doctor. She had a physical and spoke with her about her weight. My sister is considered morbidity obese. She has always had weight issues and even dropped out of high school because of being bullied. She said she has never had a doctor seem like they actually want to help her. My sister told me that she put her on medication for depression too. She said she doesn't feel depressed but the doctor says it will help her with her emotional eating which totally makes sense. She is also on a half a pill of adipex for weight loss. My sis says she hasn't felt this good in a very long time and has so much more energy. I hope she turns her life around and becomes a healthier person for herself and children.
I've actually been thinking about making an appointment with her to talk to her about my weight and concerns with possible mild depression. I'm a big emotional eater and find a lot of comfort in food. I still have some weight to lose, about 15 lbs from prepreg weight. I gained about 45-50 lbs I need some motivation and have to start somewhere.

She said that if she hasn't made any progress in a year they will talk about gastric bypass. She doesn't want to have the surgery because of all the risks. It scares her.

Scares me too. People die of complications. I was reading about it recently.
I'm glad she has found a great doctor. Go ahead and make an appointment for yourself. You deserve to be the best you you can be for yourself, LO and DH and if that means getting your emotional eating and weight under control, then that's what you should do. Hugs.
