Poor, sweet Mila girl!! I'm so sorry you're so sick, baby girl!! I hope she can get through it quickly! Sending prayers, love you, K.
Also, we had to do what Tuck said with medicine. It seems so upsetting and it feels so awful to do to her, especially when she's sick, but it helps, and it gets the medicine in faster and it starts working faster. I just repeating that mantra.
When Lillian was on amoxicillin the first 2 doses or so she spit out and I had also tried putting it in her bottle, sippy cup and food. She would not take it. Finally we started doing what Tuck mentioned about blowing in the face. I would get the syringe in the side of her mouth and get in as much as possible. By the end of her doses of 10 days she was just drinking the syringe like it was nothing. I hope she feels better! I'm sure in a couple days you will notice a difference.
And it agree this is a two person job if she is really fighting it.
When sadie was on antibiotics that smelled like fish butt, we would put one finger in her mouth so she couldn't clamp down or spit it out, then very slowly squirt the medicine in. as soon as we got it in, we blew in her face to make her swallow. It felt like child abuse, but that was the only way to get the meds in.
Yeah this is what I do too, just blow directly in her face to make her swallow. It's weird and she hates it, but it works everytime.
