Lets pretend for a minute that money, work, and our lovely babies weren't a deciding factor- if you could go anywhere in the world for a get away, where would you go and why? If I could have my dream vacation, I think I'd go somewhere like Bali or the Seychelles and do nothing but lay in the sun, nap, and eat delicious food. I'd save the busy, sightseeing vacations for when the kids are older and take the relaxing, exotic vacations now (hot)
I would love to go to Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea. It would be a dream to stay for at least two weeks in one of those suites that sit directly over the ocean and have a glass bottom floor. Then we would hop over to Fiji for more sun, swimming and just relaxing on the beach with a good book or two.
I would go back to Santorini without my H hahahaha best place I've ever been in my life! Check out Andronis Luxury Suites (that's where we stayed)... When I was there they were doing a Boden catalog photo shoot at our hotel and around the island.

I would love to go to Bali too! I would love to go to Ireland/Italy. Right now though, I would die to go back to Maine! So boring, but we loved it there.

I have always wanted to go on a backpacking tour throughout Europe for a month. I want to see the Vatican and a papal mass before I die. I want to see the German castles. I want to eat Swiss chocolate where it's made. I want to eat paella in Spain. I want to see Vienna. And I want to go to Poland to be humbled by the horrors of the Holocaust and remember exactly what those people gave.
DH has always wanted to go to Buenos Aires and Rio De Janeiro. Or mountain climb in Nepal. I'd like to say, one day we'll do all of this. For now, we'll just dream about it.
We may try to get stationed in Germany at some point before he gets out, so we can do a lot of the European stuff. We're thinking of getting a 2 year gig when A is old enough remember it, so we can show her as much of the world as we can.

I'd like to say that I would do an over water bungalow in Tahiti, but when DH and I were in Hawaii, we got bored just hanging out on the beach and stuff.
I really enjoyed swimming with the dolphins at discovery cove and spending days at seaworld so I would pick Orlando.

I freaking love Santorini! My maternal grandmother's family are from Ios which isn't far from there so when we visited we would stop over for a day or two and take in all the revelry!

Sent from the bottom of a Clorox bottle.
All of this. Relaxing on the beach is my idea of a vacation.
Options include - South Africa (including winery tours, a safari and Robbins Island) Peru and the Machu Picu Greek island hopping India (including the Taj and lots of curry!)
Greece and India are places I've been before and would love to go to again with a bit more time to explore.
I'd really love to go and explore India. It seems like such a beautiful, spiritual place.
Spain, both the south and north. Fiji, various islands in the tropics, San Francisco...
But DH and I have decided we're going to take a trip to Jamaica when I'm done BFing and stay at an all inclusive and just hang out on the beach and drink for a few days!
Europe is my favorite place to travel in general. However, I have always wanted to do northern Africa. So Morocco, Egypt and Libya. Then I'd throw in Croatia haha cause it is kind of close!
Eat, Pray, Love made me want to go to India. Now all the news about gang rapes has me thinking I want to stay away.
Yeah my DH is totally out on India. He basically refuses to go anywhere with extreme poverty due to the propensity for violence out of desperation. He's a freak though and get's out of sorts traveling somewhere he is unfamiliar with/doesn't speak the language/feels like he is vulnerable and can't "protect" us.

I worked with a guy who traveled all over Europe, North America and Asia. He says India is the only place he wouldnt go back to, that turned me off to it because he in general liked all the places I have been and liked.
I'm a big Europe fan. I would love to go back to Scotland, and then to Ireland and Wales. Stop by London for a hello to one of my favorite cities. I'd then love to head to France, eat cheese, drink wine. Then head over to Germany, stalk Dorothy Zbornak, drink beer. Then back to Austria because Vienna is one of the most glorious cities. Bike up the Danube, drink some delicious crisp wine from the local vineyards there.
Before T, our plan was to go on a big vacation and then start TTC. In June of '11 we booked flights and hotels for a 10 day trip to New Zealand (Auckland and Queenstown). Well, I got my BFP at the end of July. We canceled our trip (we had planned on taking wine tours, spending lots of money on food/activities) to save money for the baby. So...my dream vacation is to actually take our trip sometime in the future.
FYI, trip insurance DOES NOT cover cancellation due to pregnancy.

I don't even know. Any vacation at all sounds impossible and amazing right now. I know it would involve birdwatching and trying exotic new dessert foods.

Ahh man that timing sucks. I was stuck at Oktoberfest with a drunk DH due to a surprise bfp 3 days before we left for a Europe trip. Hopefully you guys make it there soonish!

I was also in Germany right after my bfp. It was so frustrating!
Also, I have stayed at a lot of the hotels around here and one of my friends works for the Tourist Board so let me know which one yo are looking at and I'll give you a review.
We have a while before I stop BFing so this is all abstract, but I did tell him when we go we have to go meet you! And I will totally be reaching out to you when the time comes to plan this!

Bitches, flock to me. We have plenty of places to sleep. And a basement full of beer.
I want to go to California and meet thedahliharpa and eat Doritos in front of her; then head to LA and see one of my BFFs from college. Actually, here's what would be awesome: Renting an RV and driving all over America. Hell yeah.
