Safeco auto insurance? opinions

We currently have our auto insurance through Allstate - we've been w/ them for about 2 years - no problems, except that we pay to much $$.

I rec'd a quote from Safeco for $123/mth vs $171/mth that I currently pay for Allstate.  We were paying almost $200 with State Farm, which is who we had before AllState.. :^)

I'm looking @ the policy and it's the same coverages we currently have.

I looked on the 2012 JDPower & Associates insurance reviews.. AllState & Safeco are rated very similarly.

Any place else I should look for reviews? Personal experiences with Safeco?

I just switched to Safeco from Allstate for both homeowners and auto. It's too soon for me to have anything to say about them good or bad, but my insurance broker said he personally uses them for his insurance and hasn't had any issues, and he has had a few claims.

We have Safeco for our cars, boat and home owners. No problems so far (although we've never made a claim).

I just switched from Safe co after having them for 2 yrs for home and car insurance. I had no issue with them but I had no claims either. I only switched b/c Liberty Mutual has a deal with my employer where you can pay your premiums pretax AND Liberty Mutual matched my rate with a better policy. The Liberty Mutual lady told me that Safeco is owned by Liberty Mutual.

The agent I spoke to also said Safeco is owned by Liberty Mutual, which is supposed to be a highly rated company.

This kind of crap just makes me nervous (switching companies).

I've been with Safeco for almost five years and have had no complaints. I had some hail damage on my car last spring and they had someone out within 48 hours to assess the damage; a check was in the mail less than a week later.
