H wants to get rid of about 30 or so CDs. I would rather not just throw them in the trash, so I am looking for some kind of place that will take them. Its not about the money or getting something for them, but to keep them out of a landfill somewhere. I came across Amazon Trade-In, it looks promising. It looks like they offer up to a few dollars for a CD - depending on what it is. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this.
We've done it for textbooks that we didn't care to keep. You just fill out the form, print it, put it on the package, and send it off. They'll email you when they issue you credit. We've gotten about $400 total. It's pretty painless.
We gotta rid of over 80 Dvds that way. It was great. They pay shipping and you can get the package picked up from your front door. I think we got around $160, which is great for something that was just cluttering up our basement.
We've used it for books and video games with good results. For CDs DH usually just takes them to a used record store and gets something in trade, but using Amazon would probably be easier.
I've used it before. The whole process is pretty easy and you can see how much they're paying for each item before you send it in so you can decide if it is worth it or not.
We've only had 1 problem trading in a phone. They wouldn't take it because they said it was damaged. It was in perfect condition. After that happened I am always sure to check the box that says they have to send it back to us if they don't accept it.

MH did it for a video game he didn't like. I got it for him on a lightening deal from amazon for $20, and they bought it back from him for $22 and paid the shipping!
