I saw it at Dick's last weekend (in a pink case!), and I was thinking about it. I often run with my dogs, but with it staying so hot so late, I'm running much later in the evening. My city is safe, but I'm a single woman, by herself, at night, on quiet residential streets, you never know... I do either run with a group or at a really public location frequently, but not every day.
I don't. I would consider it to use against animals, but against people it's more likely to get turned on you unless you know wtf you're doing with a weapon. Don't buy it unless you're willing to take some self defense training.

This is an excellent point. I wonder if I could get a couple of the girls I run with to take a class with me. I really should do self defense training anyway

No, but I'm too jumpy when I run. I'd be afraid I would use it on someone just because they scared me. I used to carry pepper spray when I took evening classes in college.
I do. Not sure I expect it to be useful against a human attacker, but I successfully used it on a goose once...
Lol! A rabid New Mexican goose!
Ha! Yes, it seems random, but that dude was coming at me hissing! And I didn't even get that close to him! A quick spritz of pepper spray, and he backed off, shook his head a bit, and went back to his buddies (or ladies that he was protecting, more likely).
