I *think* the twitching thing is normal. I'd ask the pedi to be sure, but it sounds just like something he does. My sister is like that. She twitches and kicks HARD when she sleeps. I used to beg her to let me sleep with her sometimes when I was little, then end up leaving in the MOTN because she twitches and kicks and doesn't stop moving. Its super weird, but she's fine... just what she does. And as for the crying thing - you dont think its teething related? When Cam is teething hard, I know because he'll wake up twice before midnight. Its super weird, but it always ends up being a new tooth popping out. And he also gets like you mentioned - when he's awake and SUPER tired, he is so restless. He won't stop moving his arms up and down, or moving his leg. It looks like the worst restless leg syndrome... like restless body syndrome. I was worried about it too, but now it sounds like other babies are doing it?! I feel bad because he's SO tired but won't just relax.
Aww, poor guy. I don't have any answers, but I'm sorry that he can't let his body relax. It's like baby restless leg syndrome. I might the doctor about this one.
Do you have restless leg syndrome? My sister has it BAD, which is why her whole body twitches. Sometimes if I'm DEEP asleep, DH tells me I twitch. I also have restless leg syndrome... it was AWFUL while I was pregnant. Cam used to twitch ALL the time in my belly and I swore I gave him RLS. LOL. I swear he has it though.. and then some..
I'm sorry you're concerned I would talk to his pedi for reassurance, but it doesn't sound like it's something to be super concerned about. But what the hell do I know. Layne isn't the only one who is constantly moving- DD does this thing with her hands when she's sleeping/putting herself to sleep that had me worried it was a sensory issue, but her pedi told me it was totally normal. She will rub her hands together, but it's a settling thing apparently that she does for comfort.
