One is now the live-in cat at a nearby animal hospital, he gets to talk and be nosy and be himself. I bet he'll do great. The other cat (who I loved and will miss terribly) was rehomed to a couple who works at the same company as my mom. Lena liked the male of the couple the first time they met her, which doesn't happen usually. She's quicker to warm up to women.
My SIL is having a kid, and she's allergic-ish to cats. My parents don't want anything to hinder her coming over with the baby. Solution - get rid of said cats.
Fuss, no real diagnosis, but she gets itchy eyes and sniffles when she's around their cats. My folks have a bedroom for them that is off-limits to the cats so she can sleep better when they stay over.
It just makes me really sad. My mom said it took her 5 months of feeling how I'm feeling before she finally decided to give them away.
Still not happy with them. And I hate feeling like my SIL is spoiled and gets what she wants...but I do. lol
At least they found them homes. I don't like people giving away animals because they just feel like their life would be better without them... But if they're rehomed with people who love them I will only silently judge.
