O.k. - I've read it. Seriously - no clue. Haven't heard a peep about this anywhere. On FB, on the news, etc. ** shrug ** I could care less about whether this woman gets to go or not. As the article says, they can only take 32 of the 60.
And to clarify, I'm a Baltimore fan by default. Living here, I get questioned about NOT wearing purple on Fridays. Daycare has taught my son to say "GO RAVENS!"
I am a Pats fan, and DH is a Skins fan. I guess DS is a Ravens fan, now.
Haven't heard anything at all about this. I don't think anyone is going to stop supporting the ravens or burn their jerseys or whatever else that woman is saying.
Ok. Now I read the article, and I'm still confused and still don't care. And apparently the petition was started by someone in Pasadena (technically closer to me than Baltimore).
Although, I see some merit to her argument. It's not like they won't take ray Lewis bc he announced his retirement.

That's whats really hysterical about it. Why does this woman care that much, and she really wouldn't go because of it? O.k.... more power to you, I guess. :^)

Purple Friday? I'm wearing purple all week. Lol
Admittedly, someone at work challenged me to wear purple every day for two weeks. I think I can do it without repeat. I'll give ruralrabbit lessons if the need arises

We are in Ravens territory, and I haven't heard a thing about it. FB has been all Ravens, all the time, but not one thing about cheerleaders.
DS is in his ravens gear today!! And tomorrow, and Friday, and Saturdya, and Sunday. LOL. I always wear my ravens sweatshirt so I guess I am good (at home at any rate.)
I do agree that if the sole reason she didnt go is bc of her retirement thats messed up. But..... you're going to boycott the SB because of it? alrighty then.
Ironically, I have a lot of purple in my closet b/c I like the way I look in it :-) I will wear my Raven's shirt on Sunday, b/c I have a feeling I'll get my car keyed if I didn't ;-)
Another reason why it's awful to have two full weeks between the conference title games and the Super Bowl -- the sports press has to keep coming up with stories to fill air time.
At this point I think I'm rooting for Beyonce and whoever's singing the national anthem.
So none of you all are the people who want to "burn their jerseys". Glad to hear it. My team doesn't have cheerleaders, so I can't even fathom caring about them at all.
As an aside, I'm so horrified by a daycare teaching a kid to say Go a team that is not my team. We're moving soon (we have no children), we don't know where we're moving, and we could end up in a place with a hated team (like Dallas). That would be terrible.
Meh.
We don't care enough about football to be horrified. He goes to a daycare in Baltimore, they decorated the hallways with purple footballs that he got to color with a bingo dotter and glitter. He thought it was the best fucking thing ever.
I was less than thrilled about cleaning glitter out of his hair, but whatevs :-)
ETA: Horrified is a STRONG word, actually. Really? You'd be horrified by this?
