From about October through March my husband wears a zip up North Face fleece around the house. He probably has 4 of them. We have a dog, and fleece is a dog hair magnet when you're wearing it non-stop inside the home.
A couple weeks ago I ordered a handful of items from the Ralph Lauren website, and snagged a gray zip up hoodie for him. Oh my gawd. My husband + nicely fitting jeans and this hoodie... He looks so hot. (He does not wear the hood.) It's not slim fitted, but it's also not baggy. Fits him perfectly. More stylish than athletic.
He must love the thing, because he's been wearing it non-stop. I want to buy more, as I like seeing him in a cute solid colored hoodie vs. a furry fleece.
I want to spend no more than $50 as I will be purchasing a couple of these. Unfortunately the hoodie I got from RL was the only one on sale for less than $50, and the other color options are not his style. He's more of a dark blue, black, gray, charcoal, and brown type of guy vs. brights and patterns.
If your husband wears hoodies or has a favorite, what brand is it? Any suggestions? Is he loyal to anything specific? I'm not looking for anything with a Nike swoosh, but rather something slightly less athletic looking.
My husband wears hoodies daily. He just got two new ones for his birthday and he loves them. They are from Target but are very soft. I will go try to find a link.
Dh has been wearing RL hoodies as long as I have known him. They look awesome on him. He got a different brand for a gift an I am not a fan. I buy his at Marshalls/TJMaxx. Usually $39.99 there.
wasn't there a post a few months ago about the "best hoodie ever made" or something like that? I can't remember now, of course, what the company was (or the price so it may be more then you wanted anyway)

Oh, I will have to check there when I'm off bed rest. Thank you!!
My H has a few of from Express. If you buy 2 the are less than $50 and I get coupons from there weekly. There is no coupon online today but I am sure there will be within a few days.
Yes, but they are both sports hoodies. Not what you are looking for.
DH's are the same as well.
Same here. Those plus sweatpants are DHs night and weekend uniform, especially when he's working on the house. Right now he's wearing one while he lays the tile floor for our new, not yet insulated or sheetrocked and therefore freezing cold, master bath. Definitely *not* sexy, but he's warm and comfy.
I don't think you would want my husband's favorite. It has a giant chainsaw on the front and zips up right over your face and looks like you are wearing a Jason mask. It has eye holes. It is pretty funny. He likes to wear it all the way zipped up while walking the 12lb fluffy prancing Pomeranian around the neighborhood.
DS asks him to be "silly" aka zip it all the way up. But then he gets scared until DH unzips. And then he asks him to do it again lol.
Edited - here is a picture. This + pomeranian is quite funny.
This is what I was going to say even before I read any of the replies. My DH wears one from here that I custom-ordered for him, it says "I'm a riot" on it (from Dane Cook's standup).
My H prefers just a basic Nike full-zip hoodie. He's almost 6'4", and they are made with long enough sleeves and body to cover his wrists and come down past his waistline without having to order a special tall size.
I feel like they're about $40-50 depending on where we get them, they're a nice weight and done fade or fray. I like to steal them when I want something slouchy
ETA: Just saw in your post about avoiding the "swoosh" - I guess I don't think they look overly sporty, but maybe it's not what you're looking for.
My H has a couple of really cute hoodies from one of those surf style shops (pacsun?). The store is pretty teenage, but their hoodies are great, super soft and slim fit. He has a solid one and a striped one. Looks perfect on him!
Worth the $79 if you're feeling splurgy! Made in the USA and really quite awesome.
I bought one for my hoodie loving husband for Christmas and it's every bit as good as it's press. He kinda looked at me like I was crazy (Another hoodie? What was so special about another hoodie?) but he's crazy about it.
