TurboTax told me that Form 6251 (Alternative Minimum Tax) is not available yet.
We always owe AMT.
The unavailability of the form means that our AMT has not yet been calculated at all and I should expect to owe considerably more than what TurboTax current says we owe, right? Or is some AMT already in there?

Ok lurker here. I'm new to turbo tax. I know in the past our accountant filled out the ATM form but when I went through turbo tax and entered all the required info it didn't lead me that form at all. Is that normal..how do you know if u need to do that form?
Weird. When I got to the AMT section it had all of my info uploaded from last year and I breezed right through it. I wonder if I did something wrong.
I breezed through the AMT section too, I don't think any numbers changed, but the we don't have the form yet message came at the way end.
I think you're right that it hasn't put in your AMT yet, but I suppose only time will tell. It may have estimated AMT based on last year's laws? I would think that would come with some sort of huge disclaimer though.
We can't do ours until 2/15 because brokerage statements aren't out yet at our bank. I also got a 1099-R I'd totally forgotten about in the mail today.
I am curious about my return now. It says I am able to file but they won't process my return until late Feb/early Mar because I have two forms that are delayed. So is the refund I see currently correct or will it change?
Ahh. I'm done but haven't yet tried to file. I was going to recheck tonight and then do so. I guess it might not let me.
a question: Since there was already info filled in (taken from my 2011 return) when I went through the tubro Tax AMT section, I didn't fill out any additional info. Did you have to fill in more info taken from your worksheet from last year? Or was it already input?
I had to fill it in, but I have no idea why it didn't update automatically.

TT says I can't e-file because I took HSA distributions but did not contribute to an HSA (we no longer have a HDHP). I did this last year with no problems. I have no idea if this is going to be fixed or if I should just mail in my return. Ugh.
