So I have been using calculators to figure out what to expect for a refund and getting 2 very different numbers using the same information. On the calculators that simply ask age, filing status, and income/taxes paid, we get one number. When I use a calculator that allows me to specifically add us as exemptions (as in choose a box for self and spouse, not just put in a number) it gives me a refund almost double what the others say. We have no dependents either way
Do some like turbo tax/ H&R block not automatically add you and not give you the option to add yourself or am I somehow doing something wrong?
