I know people ask about SW a lot, so please ignore if it bores you!
We are having the main living area of our house painted. The painter uses SW. I have only used their Cashmere low lustre on walls, which I really love to use and it looks nice, but I wouldn't say it's a very washable/scrubable paint, and it's not really advertised to be. I want this paint to be as washable as possible because it's the areas of the house people constantly walk around in and tend to touch the walls and I want the paint job to look nice for many years.
The painter suggested I consider Cashmere medium lustre, Duration in satin, or something in their 200 line (cannot find this on the website) in the medium sheen. He hasn't used Emerald and his thought was we don't need to spend quite that much unless I really want to. I want something right in the middle as far as sheen, definitely not flat but not super shiny. I think I am leaning toward Duration in satin - anyone have advice/thoughts?
Also, bonus points for your favorite greige color, ideally SW but could be any line that can be matched. I know, it might be overdone, but I need a nice neutral that blends with both oak and white wood, and I actually don't see it in any houses around here.

I'd go with duration, personally. My preferred SW paint is SuperPaint, but it's not as scrubbable as the duration line, so if that's something you need, I'd go with Duration.
I haven't used the Emerald line yet but it seems like it's very similar to the Duration. I just picked up a can of the Emerald to try in the master bathroom though at their last 40% off sale so we'll see. I've used the Duration in our bathroom and high traffic areas and I love it. Very durable and scrubable. In other areas like bedrooms I use Harmony. And their new ceiling paint is great too.
I've been priming, painting, and texturing for 3 weeks straight and I'm picking another can of paint up at lunch. Fun times!
I like Duration in matte. Most of my house is painted with it, including kitchen, baths, halls, and other high abuse areas. I like it a lot, but would not want satin. I think I'd find it too shiny, and matte has been washable enough for me.
I have not tried Emerald yet so can't speak to that.
I don't know why it won't actually put my text where I quoted munkii, but I agree that Emerald has great coverage. I wouldn't go with satin, stick with matte or whatever they call eggshell in that line.

I like duration, and usually get it in the eggshell finish. I have recently used Keystone Grey (which is way darker in my room than any online image reads) and totally love the shade. I am leaning towards the color Slate for our family room. And the kitchen is harts of palm (light green)
I used Duration in my kitchen and I like how durable it is. The only problem is that it can be very finicky, I think I used it in the matte sheen and it leaves lines if you aren't careful. If you flip the direction the open end of the roller is... LINE! If you roll one line ending going upward, and then roll the next line ending downward... LINE! Anyway, I can't wait to replace my kitchen cabs so I have a better excuse to paint than just being picky.
Sorry I forgot the color suggestion. We used SW Perfect Greige in the guest bedroom and I really like the color. Anything on that strip of swatches would work well.
I used Cashmere in my home and in my dining room, where I didn't prime first (was going dark, Grays Harbor over Latte), you can see lines like klt mentioned. Even after 3 coats! If I didn't buy all of my paint during the 40% off sale, I would've switched to Duration. All of the other rooms came out nice with the Cashmere though.
As far as colors, we have Perfect Greige in our living room and Spalding Gray (one shade darker on the same strip) in our kitchen/breakfast area and I'm very happy with both colors.

I just picked up a can of Emerald in satin for our bathroom, so I'm excited to hear some of you liked it.
The Emerald was the same price as Duration at my store, so I'd pick that over Duration. I'd do the matte finish for a main living area. Matte is similar to eggshell.

This is the color I am thinking basically because of the name...I mean, they already decided it was perfect right?! I am glad a couple of you have used it.
I think the 200 line is probably the contractor line, so you won't see it when you click on the homeowners site.
We use the hgtv stuff in satin. It's the same as promar 200 according to H (an if I recall correctly) H was a store manager and worked there for several years - he insists its not different enough to justify the price for duration or anything. Emerald came out after he left and he thinks its hilarious that people spend so much :/ sorry guys. He seems to think SW is ripping people off on that stuff.
I like all of the SW paints, but I disagree with your H. You get what you pay for. The higher priced paints are more durable and even look different and go on differently. I have used pretty much every paint in the store, and I won't bother with anything but Emerald or Duration now. I have used Duration since it was new, and I really feel like Duration is both durable and resists fading better than other lines (not enough experience with Emerald). DH painted the exterior trim in phases, (one part was actually years after the rest), and the color matched perfectly. Even our house painter was impressed with the paint. We insisted on him using Duration on the body of the house, and he had never used it before. He kept talking about how much he and his crew liked it. He also used less of it than the cheaper paint (different brand) than our neighbor's had him use on their house.
I used Duration Matte for the darker colors in my house. Love it. I used tinted primer the last room I pained and it made a world of difference in the coverage. I only had to cut the main paint color once. Love that this line has a matte finish that is washable.
Super Paint is what we used for the lighter colors and low/traffic areas.

Yes it's a really nice color. When the sun is out it's more of a warm beige color and when the sun is down/incandescent lights are on it's more a gray color. Sorry I don't have a very good picture of it but here's a shot of room after we finished the floors:

Hey Fox - I am late in replying back, but would you say this color has any pink/rosey undertones? Our current builder beige/tan appears to be very neutral, but has significant pink undertones in the afternoon sunlight and I hate it. A few of the colors I was interested in, I showed the painter, and he said I probably wouldn't like them if I was concerned about the pink. But he hasn't used this color so he couldn't say for sure.
I do have a sample and plan to put it on the walls in a number of spots and look at it throughout the day to be sure too.

Good that's going to be your best bet. You can also pick up on undertones by comparing paint chips between one another. But no the Perfect Greige doesn't seem pink to me. I don't like pink undertones either in beiges I tend to like yellow undertones myself.
