I can't seem to remember to take my temperature. At all. I've been off bc for three cycles so far and I'm not concerned about things AT ALL yet, but I'd like to get into the habit of temping for a few months so if there is a problem, I can bring the information in with me to the doctor. (My doctor told me that if things seem off by the time I'd be coming in for my annual in July/August which would be 8-9 months since starting to try, we'd discuss things then.)
My two questions with this are: 1. How did you get into the habit of temping, and 2. How late is "too late"? I know getting out of bed is a no-no, but what about rolling over and laying in bed for about 5 minutes, as that's what's been happening to me. I'll remember it after that point, and I'm not sure if that's even usable by then.

Set your alarm. Mine goes off at 4am. I tempt and go back to sleep without even really doing anything. My thermometer remembers the temp. That way I'm also guaranteed to still be sleeping when it goes off so its my longest chunk of sleep.
I've also temped at random times for multiple months without getting 3 full hours before temping and been able to see a temp rise with no problem.

Good to know that the temp is still telling you something without being at the "right" time, I really should start this next week. Cramps have started big time, so I'm pretty sure AF is just a few days away.
I started by temping soon as I remembered, regardless of how long just to create the physical connection. Then got better and better at doing it right away.
I set my alarm for 6:30 am every day, on days I take OPK I will get up & do that too b/c I usually have to pee. Now it's just part of the morning routine...although I will be happy when it's over!
I keep the thermometer on my nightstand right next to my iPhone. I wake up several times throughout the night, and take my temp the first time I wake up, no matter when that is (sometimes it's 1:30, sometimes it's 6:30), as Lon as I've been asleep for more than 3 hours. I can still see a very obvious temp rise.
I think a little bit of rolling around before taking your temp is okay, but I wouldn't wait as long as a few minutes. It should be the very first thing you do when you wake up. But lying there or a minute or so is probably okay.

I do this too V. I usually wake up around 4/5am, but sometimes it is earlier. I still see a temp shift. I do wish I could do it at the same time everyday, after 3 hours sleep, so that the data is more accurate, but it just doesn't work out. But it is the first thing I do when I wake - I keep it on my bedside table. I guess its just a habit you have to get into - setting an alarm might help. There should be an alarm that goes "take your temp! Take your temp!"

I know the official line is "as soon as you wake up," but I frequently snooze the alarm 1-2 times, and sometimes I get up and kick the cat out of the bedroom (he's a jerk when he wants us to get up) before temping. Everyone is different, but I'm still able to see very clear shifts every cycle.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!

I have the same problem.
Couple the fact that I can't remember to do it with the fact that my DD is only 2 and still wakes up occasionally, and I have an old semi incontinent dog who often poops in the night (clean up) and I rarely get a full night's sleep. DH helps out as much as possible - but I still wake up. I kind of gave up on charting.
My alarm goes off at 6, I get up at 630 - I like snooze! I temp when i hit the alarm the last time. I've rolled over before, I just make sure to not get up, even if I have to pee. This is only my 2nd cycle but last month I was able to pinpoint when I O'd. Once I forgot and showered first and my temp was way off so I didn't record that one. Just gotta get in the habit. I stick the thermometer in my mouth and turn my phone on to get FF running and once the beep goes off (I have a 1 min timer for the temp) I plug it in and get up. It's pretty simple. Weekends suck to set an alarm but at least I don't have to get up.
