We are required to do a safety training for work each month. It's just a Powerpoint sent to all staff via email with a link to click acknowledging that you received said email and reviewed the training material.
This month's training is 'Carnival Time Safety Tips' and includes such gems as:
"Do NOT get lost in the crowd" "Do NOT drink and drive" "Stay in control of your person" "Save some cash for a cab ride in case you get separated from your group" "Do not wear your new, expensive tennis shoes as they will no longer be new by the end"
...and, finally..."Remember that the amount of alcohol you consume correlates with the number of times you must relieve yourself, and bathrooms are not always easy to find."
LOL. Only in NOLA would this be a workplace 'training'.
Now you know and knowing is half the battle. Keep you new tennis shoes at home and, honestly, I can't think of anything sanitary to help with the bathroom issues.
New tennis shoes and New Orleans is a bad idea any time of the year. Last time I was there, I wore my chucks so I could just throw them in the washer when I got home.
The time I was there before that... well, lets just say I was 23... I was probably contributing to the funk on the streets of the french quarter. I was one of those. My apologies to the locals.
