Hi, I don't usually post on this board, but after searching the internet up and down, I keep finding contradicting theories on how best to clean brazilian cherry floors. I moved into my condo 2 months ago and have no idea how to keep my floors clean. Sweeping and vacuuming isn't cutting it, especially when I have a 16yo dog who can't hold his bladder and a husband who doesn't always take his shoes off ;-) I don't know how the floors are sealed, but if anyone has the same floors and can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Most of the hardwood cleaners are apparently not meant for brazilian cherry. Nice floors are only great when you can keep them looking nice. TIA

I didn't realize brazilian cherry floors required different care than other wood floors. I use bona floor cleaner on my brazilian walnut floors and it works really well with the dog drool I have to get up. I've also used a vinegar and water solution which was great too. Just spray on and wipe with a microfiber mop.
We were told this was a huge no-no for Brazilian cherry.
The floor guy told us mop lightly with water and make sure no standing water was left behind. He said Bona was ok too but not to use all the time.
See I have had terrible luck with Bona, leaving the floor very dull and cloudy. We had Merbau floors though that darken with age. It was the only product that worked for us. The only thing we we were warned against is Vinegar and water

Oh these floor guys.... I think they all have different opinions. I'm now remembering that he also said vinegar/water was ok on occasion too. We no longer live at that the place with the cherry floors so I can't speak to how they look now but at the time they looked great... no clouding issues.
Could you just use a steam mop? I know there are lots of great ones out there that leave very little water behind. I have a Bissell and love it for my hard floors.
