I don't know what is up with my body this month. My temp won't rise.
I got a positive OPK on CD9 - glaringly positive, and so was the digital. CD10, 12, 13, negative. EWCM/WCM on CD9 and 10. Ovulation pains around the same time. So all signs point to ovulation, right? Temp won't go up. I do admit that I'm not great about temping at the same time every day (usually I temp between 3 and 5am), but I've gotten a shift every other month. (Chart link in siggy if you care to stalk.) I know you can get a positive OPK without ovulating, but there were so many other signs that it makes it difficult to see that I may not have ovulated yet.
I had an ultrasound done in December to check my fibroid and they found 2 small cysts, one on each ovary. I go back at the end of Feb to check to see what state they are in. Can cysts mess with your cycle?
I'm betting my temp will rise tomorrow, and then our timing will be a little wonky.
Sometimes I wonder if we put too much stock into FF and temping. I'm a biologist, but I can't help but wonder if charting is not the exact science it makes itself out to be. I think next cycle we will try for sex EOD from about CD9 until CD15, which should cover when I normally ovulate.
Sorry, radishes. I've had all the signs you are mentioning without ovulating. This happened last cycle, about 6 days before all the signs happened again, followed by a temp shift. It is frustrating though!
Ugh! Sorry Radishes, wierd cycles are so frustrating!! Can I piggy back as I'm fed up with my body this cycle too. I had WCM and EWCM on CD 12/13, a temp drop on 13 and now significant spotting today. Boo!
Why can't our bodies work like clock work?! It would be much less frustrating!
I read online that cysts can affect your cycle, especially if you have PCOS. I don't think that temping is an exact science. There are so many uncontrolled variables involved. My dr is not a big fan of temping because it will only tell you when you ovulated after it has already happened so she just recommends EOD BD. I think your plan for next cycle sounds good.
