Lol! Sounds like stuff my h would come home with. Well, minus the canned veggies. He would just buy a head of iceberg lettuce and a grapefruit and call it a day, but there would be many frozen pizzas.
Haha, I remember this one time I was visiting my mom and my stepdad came home with something like 6 flats of cream of mushroom soup. My mom was like " what.the.fuck" and my step dad was SO pumped about the soup that was on sale. My mom was so pissed because my step dad can't even eat that stuff because of the sodium content. Ahh, good times.
H has never done the grocery shopping alone. I have no idea what he would come home with, but I am pretty sure it wouldn't be anything that I'd want. He has a bad habit of only procuring items that sound good at that exact moment in time. So, he'd probably come home with next to nothing.
This is pretty much how I shop, lol. DH and I used to almost always go together and the house was mostly junk free. Now I do the grocery shopping by myself and our spending has gone way up (along with my weight ) because I apparently have a compulsion to buy junk .
This sounds similar to the shopping trip I made for the weekend. Both DH and I have been sick, so I wanted to buy minimal-effort comfort food. So now we have Froot Loops, frozen pizza, mini eclaires, and Hamburger Helper. We already ate the cake slices I bought.

My H is the main grocery shopper now that he is retired and he does a really good job.......ten years ago I wouldnt let him grocery shop because if I put "AAA batteries" on the list he would come home with 85 AAA batteries that cost $50 and if I put "cheese slices" he would come home with a box of 128 pieces of cheese that would go bad before we could eat it all.
Now, he has the perfect balance of fun dad food and good healthy things!

My H has never done the shopping alone either. I am having a really hard time imagining what he would come home with. He is obsessed with getting the best price and is also obsessed with eating healthy, so I probably wouldn't even get the benefit of him coming home with fun junk food. It would probably be turkey burgers, granola, and bananas. Lol.

Well, hello my long lost sister. My dad did this too with Chicken Noodle soup. "It was 10 for $10, so I got 30! What a deal! It lasts forever!"
And he also brought home a giant jar of banana peppers. Like, close to a freaking gallon sized jar. What on God's green earth he was planning on doing with them, I don't know, but that jar was in my parents' fridge for a looooong time.
I still to this day tease DH about his first trip to Costco when we were newlyweds. He got the gallon of tequila, a lemon cake, the big packet of chicken and 4 bottles of BBQ sauce. That's all he got for us to eat for a week. Lol!
Now he is much better and even clips coupons, uses recipes and meal plans. It only took me 13 years to train him!
