So, my ovarian reserves are fine, my doctor subscribes to the school of thought that short LPs don't hinder conception and won't order 7dpo testing because she doesn't think it is helpful...and then we got DH's results.
His sperm count was low (1.7 and the doctor told him 40 was normal, so it appears he was looking at total sperm count). He has a follow-up in two weeks to discuss further (appointment was previously scheduled for a routine physical), and then he will refer him to a urologist.

Sorry Beloved. I would consider seeing a different OB or an RE if you think you have a short LP.
Hopefully the SA was a fluke. Likely the urologist will order a second test. There are things he do to try to up it- vitamins and such, that the doctor will probably discuss with him.

Thanks, ladies. This is my GP; I have to get a referral to see an RE, and I don't have an OB-Gyn. That is the only specialty I can self-refer to, so I think I will call my insurance and find out if there are any caveats to that. I'm also trying a b-complex (straight B6 had no effect) because I figure, "why not?"
DH has been reading up on it and is annoyed because it's out of his control; he's doing everything "right" (vitamins, exercise--but not too much, no tight pants, no laptop on the lap, etc.). He rarely gets sick...he's not used to something being "wrong" with him.
We treated ourselves to Chipotle for dinner; drowning our sorrows in burritos.

I'm sorry, Beloved. At least you know more at this point and can put a plan in place. I can imagine my DH would have a hard time with news like that - something about men and that area....
That stinks. I think you're on the right track with finding an OB. The goal is to get pg and need one anyway, right? I've heard it can take longer to get in to see an OB if you haven't seen them before, too, so double-win. Good luck!
