I'm advocating HARD for us to get a king with some of our wedding gift money. DH is sick of listening to me, but we both sleep horribly on our Queen. There's just not enough room for us to spread out. I think I convinced him enough to where we will go looking this weekend. It is a huge expense though, including all new bed linens. Blah.
ETA - I guess you can all see that it's a clicky poll so I removed that from the title!
I looked at the dimensions of the CK PS and it looks like it's longer and not much wider than a Queen. DH and I aren't tall people, so I think the extra width with a standard King would benefit us more.
Thank goodness, gozf. I was starting to feel nest poor!
I always feel Nest poor!
It's cozy, right? We're snugglers, so it's fine. He spoons me, I spoon my cat. His cat doesn't like to be touched; she just hangs out at the foot of the bed, sneering at us.
I share a full bed with someone who is 6'3" and 2 cats. It's crowded!
Omg we would kill each other. We slept in our guest room in a full bed for a week while our wallpaper was coming down last summer. The first night was all cuddles and by the end of the week we were hating each other.

It is cozy! We had a California King on our honeymoon and both of us hated it. There was so much space it felt like you could roll and roll forever without running into the other person.

Yes, that would make me sad.
I think it works for us, too, because we have opposite schedules. During the week, he's just coming to bed when I'm getting up. And on weekends, it's cuddlefest! There's not time for it to get on my nerves.
King. It is amazing. But be warned that if you ever go anywhere where you are forced to sleep in a queen or smaller it is absolute fucking torture thereafter.

When I started dating XH I lived in another city and we dated long distance. My bedroom in my apartment was tiny so I could only have a twin bed. We shared it when he would come to visit. He is 6'6 and I am 5'9. How is that for cozy, gozf and smock?
We have a queen and like it just fine. I had a full for a bit back in our grad school days, but we weren't living together yet. H is 5-10 and skinny and we don't have any pets.
I feel a bit lost in a king, but I'm a snugglebandit. Plus most houses around here really can't accommodate a king-sized bed, so I'd be loath to get one (because the next bed I buy I'm going to put down some solid coin for), and then have it be some huge albatross if we moved.
California King. Because DH is 6' 3" and I was sick of him un-tucking the sheet and blankets at the end of the bed, just because he's too long to lay on a normal bed without his feet hanging over. It is really big and harder to cuddle in, though.

We have a king, but would do just fine in a queen. I always sleep on my side and H sleeps in the middle (usually diagonally across my side), so there's a ton of unused room on his side. It's really pretty pointless for us to have this huge bed. Plus it's a temperpedic mattress and I hate it. I can't wait to be rid of that bed!

This is EXACTLY what we are looking for - we had a king on our honeymoon and slept awesomely.

We have a cal king in the guest room. We sleep on a queen and were talking about moving to a full and putting the queen in the guest room until we were gifted the king.
And DL, I'm sorry that you don't want contact with your spouse at night. Maybe you guys should look into counseling.
Perhaps we should. Bwahaha.
We do snuggle for a little bit until we realistically want to fall asleep. I am such a hot sleeper that I can't have anything or anyone near me. We're also extremely light sleepers, so when one person moves, the other wakes up. We have never had good sleep since we have been together, except when we lived in separate apartments and each slept at our own place.

Oh! You have to get individual pocketed coils. It is Ah-Mah-Zing!

I've never heard of those!
Okay so on some beds they use innerspring which means all the coils are connected by the same wire(s). So when Mr DL moves, the motion travels to DL's side of the bed which causes it to move too. With the individual pocket coils, they are all independant. Which means if Mr DL moves, it isn't connected to DL's side of the bed so she shouldn't wake up.
I just bought a new bed last week. I used to have an innerspring but switched to the individual. I laid on the bed and salesman dude was bouncing up and down (get your mind out of the gutter) on the other side of the bed and I couldn't tell!
