Does anyone have a white ink tattoo or know anything about them? I don't know anyone IRL that has one and I'm strongly considering it. The other two I have are just black ink.
I know someone with a white ink tattoo on her inner wrist. She loves it, and unless you really are looking for it, it's not nearly as noticeable as any other color. She has other tattoos that can be easily hidden by clothing, but she intentionally got this one in white so that it doesn't cause issues for her in a professional setting.
White ink is okay if you want it to fade really fast. I have a white cancer ribbon on my foot and it faded in about 7 months.
I'm surprised the tattoo artist would put white ink on your foot. I have a huge tattoo on my foot, and the artist was super hesitant to do it, because it fades faster there then any other place on your body.

It does, and did. I got it touched up and instead of using the shading needle, he over saturated the colors with an outline needle to make it stick longer. I know its white and what its supposed to be so that's all that matters.

From what I understand, they fade very easily, and sometimes the color(s) they fade too are not all that pretty (like a yellowy/brownish color). I might go with something like a pale blue or pink instead.
I have white ink in one of mine and it faded very fast, it has a skin tone color now and probably should be touched up. I got it back in early 2005. Even right after I got it, it really didn't show and I went back in to have them go over the white area again.
To add I asked my tattoo artist to do a cancer ribbon on my foot and he refused because he said that the with ink does not look as even when you are doing delineating. So, the ribbon would look crooked or uneven.
They fade quickly, change colors slightly AND (no one mentioned this yet), they often end up looking like a scar, rather than a tattoo. Like Marle, my artist won't do white tattoos. It ends up looking like you went to a shitty artist, no matter how good he or she really is.
I do, except it's not white anymore - it's blue. The artist did blue first (said that would give the white something to 'grab onto', and and then did the white. It looked fantastic, for about a year. After that it faded so much it's just blue. I'm actually going to have it redone in black and gray some time this year.
I've had the white in my tattoo touched up twice in the last 4 years. Again, it's faded back to skin color. I'm done touching it up. I don't recommend using white at all.
