I've also heard of people using Milk of Magnesia for a primer I think? Or maybe it's the Monistat chafing gel? I've been meaning to try it in the summer. I've been using Revlon Colorstay foundation and Maybelline Dream Matte powder over it and while my face still gets a little oily I find that it stays on ALL day, including the blush I put on too. Even if I fall asleep without washing my face I'll wake up in the morning and still have color, it's amazing. That is, if you want to start using foundation under everything.
it sounds like you may need more on your face in order to keep that stuff in place like a primer, foundation, and powder to give the makeup you use something to stick to. If i just applied those products to my bare face it wouldn't last either.
The UD eye primer really prevents raccoon eyes. My eyeliner and mascara would run underneath my eyes and my eyeshadow would end up in the creases. I apply above and below my eyes, to the edges of my eyes. I always set it with powder (eyes and face) before I apply makeup.
another trick I use is to line my eyes with an eyeliner pencil (UD 24/7) and then take a thin flat stiff eye brush and stipple a tiny amount of coordinating eyeshadow over the pencil lines. This sets the eyeliner and gives depth to the color. It also makes for a simple smoky eye look. Start off small and you could always add more if desired.
I think I need to try an eye primer. I've done the shadow over liner, but sometimes I just like a sharp black cat eye type liner with no eyeshadow. Thanks!
I've found Too Faced Shadow Insurance to be the very best eye primer for me, though I like the UD brand for it too (as well as all other UD primers/products!) It helped my makeul survive 3 hour workouts, Houston summers and oily skin.
I have really oily skin. I've been using the Monistat Chafing Gel mixed with my foundation and it works well. I found that using a finishing powder also helps. I love Bare Minerals Mineral Veil or Tarte's Smooth Operator.
