Our 2nd vehicle (truck) is dead. it's so crappy at this point it's not worth putting any more money into. The focus is the only "family car" we have right now and it barely fits the 2 kids. Anyone have a cheap crossover or SUV that will fit 3 carseats (since this will presumably still be our vehicle when we have a 3rd- no juicy gossip yet!). Obviously safety, blah blah blah, but funds are limited to purchase a new vehicle since if wasn't really planned so cost is a big deal. Doable, but not ideal, kwim?
We got a Dodge Journey last year. It has a third row seat that folds down or obviously can be used. It's considered a cross over. Ours was super cheap.....like $17,000 brand new, but that because it was pretty basic and we don't have the AWD feature, just FWD. But it is roomie and reliable.....pretty decent gas, like I get 25-27 mi/per gallon on the interstate. It does us just fine, the 4 of us with one big ole' hound dog............and we pull our pop-up with it.

I've heard good things about Hyundai SUV's. No personal experience, but I bet you could find a used one pretty cheap because they don't have good resale value like a Honda or Toyota does.
