I will sound very non-PC here, but it's about time. Sorry kids. The last 6 times I've flown, probably 5 of them have been red-eyes. Even with earplugs, screaming kids make it hard to sleep.
This makes sense. They charge for everything else and upcharge for special seating as it is.
I'm so nervous for our flight to Seattle. Moreso now that they changed it from a 6am flight to 8:30 like a week after we booked it. Fuckers. We purposely paid extra to take an early ass flight so she would be sleepy still.
The best is on the bubble planes when you get an upstairs seat and all the kiddos are downstairs because you actually can't hear them at all. It's like heaven.
I like the idea. I've flown with great kids that were polite and great to be around. I've also flown with monsters that have thrown things on me and yelled the whole flight. I wouldn't mind them being sequestered in another part of the plane.
I believe some Asian airlines already do this, as a way of catering to their business clientele.
Sounds reasonable to me. I find flying with my kid stressful BECAUSE I don't want to disturb other people. I always feel a great sense of relief when I go to sit down and find we've been seated near other young children. I think we all gravitate towards the back of the plane, just like those dirty smokers used to have to do.

I know so many parents feel this same way.
As a baby, I guess I had the runs and barfed all the way through a 3-hour flight. My mom was holding me the whole time and forgot to bring a change of pants, for either of us (lol). And I had cloth diapers. Poor mom. And poor other people on that plane with me who had to smell my poop-smeared clothes and mother.

I've never flown with DS, and most likely won't for quite some time. I prefer to drive to most locations. If it's any farther from me than Southern CA, I'll fly. But other than that, I drive (I had this philosophy before having DS too).
That being said, I love the idea of kid free zones. But I also have to add that most of the time when I've flown in the past its the adults acting like children who I have found to be the most disruptive.
Let me add, I understand toddlers and babies can have behavior that can not be controlled. They are learning and growing. I'm talking about kids old enough to know how to behave.
On my last flight a woman had a baby in a bassinet on a 13 hour flight. That baby was amazing. You could also tell the parents were worn thin and exhausted.
