Everyone just got a bath, so that my daughters can decide their future. I'm sure to find many more as I continue going through stuff. Having two girls so close in age was like having twins...everything in pairs, so we had at least 2 of everything, sometimes 4 or more.
DH is so clueless. He wanted to donate all of them, along with my younger daughter's My Little Pony collection (original, in really good condition-no haircuts, none written on or anything). I told him that the decision wasn't ours, and he thought I was crazy. Just wait until we reach the toy cabinet and he sees the Barbie's. We have all of my Barbie stuff from when I was a kid, along with theirs. Their aunt worked for Mattel, so they have a crazy amount of Barbie and SheRa & friends stuff.
Since one daughter is childless, and the other has boys and isn't having any more kids, they are probably going to sell a lot of it....after they take a trip down memory lane.
Awwwww! Popples and Rainbow Brite were my favorites.
Some 80s vintage toys are worth quite a bit in the collector's market. Do your research before selling some of them! I know you mentioned Mattel, but My Little Pony (in particular) has hot collectors (I can help you ID and value them), Lady Lovely Locks, some Rainbow Brite and Care Bears.
Thamks! My eldest is pretty savvy about that stuff, but if she has any questions I will pass them along to you.
My kids never had Lady Lovely Locks, but they have some really unusual stuff....do you remember The Get Along Gang? They have a Haunted Badger Mansion that was released in the UK, but not here. That is not being sold, nor is the Soda Shoppe and the dolls.
And Strawberry Shortcake....my youngest had a cat that smelled like strawberries. She had surgery when she was two and took it in with her, and when the Dr. came out he asked about the toy and told me that they were talking about it during the operation.lol
