My run on Thursday wasn't the best, and I had an eight miler scheduled for today which was my longest run to date. My husband came out with me and pushed the stroller for me which was awesome. I'm used to running 9:30's to 10 minute miles while pushing the stroller, so it was super nice to have him come out and help. What was even better was that my splits were 9:05, 9:20, 8:44, 8:46, 9:20, 9:43, 9:42, 9:07 which made me feel awesome. Not incredibly fast, but consistent enough to satisfy me. I'm training for a half in April, and today was the first day when I actually thought, "I can do this!"- I felt like I could have kept running at mile eight which made me feel great. So yeah. That's it. I made it eight miles and just had to squeak about it.
That's great. Good training strategy to make you super fast on race day. I wonder if I could talk my husband into coming with me and pushing a stroller. That might even us out.
