I went off birth control in September last year. My periods have been like clockwork since then, every 28 days. I'm two days late. We haven't really been trying, but probably haven't been quite as careful as we could have been... a baby would be a happy surprise.
I've taken two store-brand tests, both negative. I'm curious if I should try a different brand or if those are likely pretty accurate. Do I just need to wait longer to get a good read? I may go get a blood test done by the doctor next week if it still hasn't started. Thoughts??
I'd probably wait several more days and retest. If you're sure of your dates and don't have a period or a positive within a week, I'd get in touch with your doctor. While it's more than likely than not you'll get your answer soon, but if not, I'm sure they'll want to see you and figure out what's going on.
Thanks guys. I'm kind of figuring I'm not, and I know my body could still be adjusting to getting off the pill, but it just seems weird. I'll give it til midweek and retest if I haven't started by then.
If your period is truly late then a pregnancy test should be able to pick up a positive by now. I'd get some Dollar Store ones and test everyday until it comes (if you feel the urge to pee which, I admit, is a powerful urge). Good luck!

Bodies do weird things, you probably just ovulated later than usual. Even people that have typical cycles can be late. If you're stressed, under the weather, ect. anything can put you slightly off. Wait it out, a blood test is probably jumping the gun.

I've always had extremely regular periods but, every once in awhile, I'd have a month where I ovulated late and then that would make my period come later than usual.
I'd probably wait it out. Most OBs won't bring you in for bloodwork unless your period has been MIA for at least 60 days.
