I may spontaneously combust if any more of the houses on our list go under contract before DH gets to see them this week when he is in town. He won't be free to house hunt until Thursday...plenty of time for the rest of the houses on our list to become unavailable.
DH had asked our realtor to schedule a viewing, and told her that the house was at the top of our list, a top priority for him to see, Just now, (in the middle of the night), the listing showed up as being under contract.
Just tell yourself it was rat infested. That was my go to every time we lost a house.
LOL
Aaaand yet another one is no longer available rat infested.I am afraid to check the rest of the list, so I may wait until after I have a cup of chai.
I can't go because I can't find anyone to watch the four dogs for me. We tried, (after DH panicked this weekend about house hunting without me, even though he is going to skype with video from his iphone during the showings), but we just couldn't make it work.
We normally have my daughter come pet sit here so it's easier on everyone or we leave them with the breeder. My daughter can't come to stay since she has kids in school (2 different schools and schedules) and other responsibilities, and they can't stay at her house (she lives with inlaws who have cats and are not dog people at all). The breeder has an elderly family member that she is a caregiver for having surgery, and it would be too much for her to handle this week.
No kennel will take the two show dogs because they are intact, and everyone that I know who would be willing to help out has big dogs or cats that make it too complicated.
There was a house that I loved that I got outbid on. Beautiful cape with hardwood floors throughout, gorgeous fireplaces and luxurious finishes in the bathrooms. It is on my commute to work. It rankled and I got to see it four days a week. Two months after the successful bidder moved in, their next door neighbor killed his girlfriend and set fire to his (the killer's) house to hide his crime. The fire spread to the house that I wanted. The killer's house burned down and the house I wanted had severe damage to the kitchen, living room and right side bedrooms. Here we are six months later and the house is still wrapped in plastic. Now I am glad that we didn't get that house.
Keep looking and keep your chin up. We are pulling for you.
