I've got a nice collection of skirts (mostly pencil) that I really want to wear, but I'm a bit dumb when it comes to wearing them in the winter.
I ABHOR pantyhose, but I'm learning to like tights. I guess I just struggle with tops and staying warm in skirts in wet cold winter.
I welcome any pictures or inspiration of ya'll in your winter skirt wear! I currently have grey, forest green, royal blue and lipstick red pencil skirts.
I live in skirts and I live in Chicago. I wear tights (usually black, navy, or gray) with them (and I have a variety of pencil skirt colors: black, navy, gray, mustard, turqoise, purple, red, paisley print, green, etc).
eta: For my commute, I wear Sorel/Ugg/Hunters with them and change into boots/heels/booties at work. A few weeks ago when the high was something crazy like 8 degrees F, I wore yoga pants over my tights during my commute and put my skirt on once I got to the office

I live in MN so it's pretty cold but I still wear skirts/dresses most days. I just wear thick tights. If I'm not wearing boots I'll just wear my winter boots on the drive and then put on regular shoes once I get to work. I have a blanket in my car to cover my legs since it takes a while for my car heat to get hot. :-)
Usually tights and booties - sometimes tights with heels - but more often, tights with booties. I will sometimes wear knee-high boots, too, but it depends on the cut of the skirt. If it's A-line then I'm more likely to wear boots, pencil then I'm more likely to wear booties.

I rarely wear pants to work, even when it's 15 degrees outside. I find that black tights coordinate with most of my work outfits. I also have charcoal, wine, and army green tights in my rotation.
Ditto HZ. I wear skirts/dresses mostly and wear opaque tights. I wear riding boots a lot, otherwise snow boots for my commute. I also have a long down coat that I wear. I'll throw leggings on over tights for commuting as well.

I am in Boston, but this is how I wear skirts in winter too. I have a 20 minute walk to the train/bus so I will carry my skirt to the office and wear warm pants for the commute.
I am in Boston and I wear skirts to work everyday. I do tights with all my pencils, and wear a slip for any skirt without a lining to keep them from sticking to my skirts.
For inspiration I would just go back through out OOTD posts from the past week or so, a lot of us do skirts/dresses some days. I also have a section on my blog that is all "9-5" or business casual dress in all types of weather. Most of my outfits on there are my skirt outfits.
I live in Chicago and wear skirts a lot in the winter. I am also in and out a lot during the day. I wear double tights (thanks to this board) and boots. I also wear my long down coat. I usually stay warm enough that way. If it is really cold (below 20), then I will stick with pants.

I do tights with skirts in the winter. If I can do boots or a high bootie, I wear footless tights with regular socks of the same color for a little extra warmth. It keeps my feet a little warmer and keeps me from having the seams from the toes of my tights ending up under the ball of my foot. There's a line of tights that are called Boot Tights and they have socks for feet as opposed to being all tights. I've been curious about them.
I live in a milder winter climate but fleece lined tights are the best! I live in those. I also wear sweater tights and layer tights, meaning wear 2 pairs at once to keep my legs warm.
I'm not really adding anything new. I'm in St. Louis. I layer tights all the time. I live in boots. And I always wear skirts and dresses in the winter.

Choose a maxi-skirt for the least amount of hassle. Many maxi-skirts can even be worn with minimal to no leg protection. Pick out a skirt that extends somewhere between your mid-calf and the top of your foot, a few inches above your ankle. Longer skirts will keep you warmer, but a skirt that’s too long will drag on the ground, getting wet and muddy.
