I just heard about this, and it seems so odd to me. I may be a little bit biased because a lot of the men in my family (immediate and extended) were involved in wrestling and I enjoyed it enough to be a "manager" in high school and still volunteer occasionally at tournaments, but aside from that...
Wrestling has been an Olympic sport from the beginning! Why in the world would you drop wrestling and keep pentathlon??? (I admit I had never even heard of pentathlon until today, I had to google it).

I just can't seem to wrap my head around it... I mean, this is a sport that basically started the Olympic Games!
It doesn't require a lot of fancy, expensive equipment, so it invites competitors from all economic areas. Isn't that kind of the idea of the Olympics? To bring together athletes from all over the world?

No, you fools! The point of the olympic games in sponsors and endorsements. They only had those silly sports in there because commercials hadn't been invented yet.

I think in the spirit of the traditional, pagan Olympics, they need to bring back wrestling AND the kind of hand-to-hand fighting where the only prohibited move was eye-gouging.
