Seriously though, I plane to stencil one wall of DD's room. How bad is it? Would I run scared? Or does it look cool enough to be worth it?
Oh, it definitely looks cool enough to be worth it! :-) But it is SO SO SO time consuming! My biggest issue, bar none, is that my stencil isn't cut to the very edges of the vinyl (if that makes sense)--so the stencil I'm using a has a 3" solid border all around it, and there's no way at all to bring the pattern all of the way to the edges of the walls without physically taking a scissor to the stencil and lopping off the edge to right where the cutout begins. As it stands now, I took the stencil, traced one of the cutouts it on oaktag, cut it out, bent the oaktag so it fits flush into the corners, and am using that to finish off around the edge of the walls and at the ceiling line. What a PITA!!
ETA: I am doing all 4 walls in the room as well, which is another part of my problem, even though the bathroom isn't very large. If I only had to do this piecemeal crap on one wall, I probably would have been done by Halloween.
Oh...yeah...I just chopped mine up. I did the entire walls as close to the edges as I could get, and then I cut off the border up and down both sides to do the verticle corners, and then chopped off a good 6 inches of the bottom, which let me get all the way to the baseboards using the main piece of the bottom, and then stencil up to the ceiling with the part I cut off. (does that make sense?)
I can still use it again if I really wanted to despite the surgery, it's just less stable.

Yes, this makes sense. For some reason I feel sad about cutting mine up, so I haven't done it. It does become more and more appealing, however, every time I have to reposition and rebend the oaktag though!
Cheers: Our master bath re-tile which I've been dreading because I thought it would be super expensive and a total nightmare? Not so. Tile guy said he can ground grout, acid wash, redo grout, and call it a day. $600 to get our master bath ready to show.
Jeers: After finally getting settled on the idea of staying put in the city (the good, the bad, and the expensive), DH was just asked to apply for a position in a city we had been looking at closely but had decided against. But if the job were awesome... but we don't like the schools... but it will be close to family... but the area is oppressively conservative... but the property prices are soooo cheap... but I would have a hard time finding a job there... but I have a ton of old friends who live there... FWP.
Can I cheer for your jeer? Good luck deciding what to do!!
Cheer and jeer: We painted the LR and it looks good. But we didn't get to finish painting the connecting loft walls and had to move in. Cheer and jeer: Our renters are moving out due to PCS and we have to put the house back on market again. I will be going full speed D&R in the new house if we can get rid of that other house! LOL!
Jeer: My super cute shoes got a little too pinchy since I had to from the bus. I called H for a ride.
Cheer: even though my hairdresser last night was totally crazy, my hair looks pretty good and is super shiny this morning.
I have those shoes too! Good to know they aren't made for walking far. LOL!
Don't you just love them though?! I get a little pick me up when I'm wearing them every time I look at my feet. Not for long walks, but fine around the office.
Well, we aren't TTC. But I have stage IV endometriosis and PCOS so having an oops instead of going through the multiple procedures my OB has planned would be awesome.
