Per your request. I got to ride it on a decent length ride for the first time today and it was wonderful. Buttery smooth and light. Thank you again for your help.
...and such a lovely bike she is! I'm really glad that you are enjoying her! There is nothing like a new bike. I want a new one myself.....I don't think you will regret going for the nicer bike!
Be sure to take the reflectors off; otherwise, you will be called a "Fred." Get a rear blinkie light. All the cool kids have them.
I really like Planet Bike products. Blinkie (always red....like the tail lights on your car): ecom1.planetbike.com/3070.html. Most are in the $25-35. Don't skimp and get the $10 one. Chances are it won't be very bright. You want it really, really bright!
I have a bag from Jandd (www.jandd.com). I'm partial to their products. I recommend going to the local bike shop and seeing what they have. Most saddle bags (aka seat packs) are of a similar design. There are 2-3 common sizes--really small (can't carry a spare tube), small (fits a spare tube, CO2, tire levers, and your keys), and kitchen sink (2 tubes, 3 spare CO2 cartridges, cell phone, keys, multi tool, kitchen sink, and a sleeping bag). Take your bike and see which size would fit your needs. I've found that many brands are durable. It's not like you are going to be doing much with it other than having it sit underneath your saddle.
