... I was shaking.
I've been working modified hours. At first, it was because of the work I was doing. The work ended and I asked to keep the modified work hours. Owner of the company agreed, but with the stipulation that if the company was awarded work that needs to be done with my usual boss, I'd have to switch back to a normal work day.
Long story short, usual boss made a HUGE mistake (missed a deadline). Because of this, I have to go back to my original schedule. I have nothing to do with the deadline. NOTHING. I'm still not doing anything that involves him. We sit in the same office, and this man will go weeks with out speaking to me. Yet I need to be here when he is here. Let's add on the fact that most of the people who work here work modified hours and he usually comes in 45 minutes late.
He also made a comment yesterday that makes me want to throat punch him.
The fact that the owner of the company is backing him on this boggles my mind. I'm so done. I guess this is the kick in the ass I needed to start looking for a job again.
Then you need to be proactive and get specific on what your new responsbilities are - the ones that require you to be in the office for those extra hours. And if the boss can't or won't give you work - then you need to document that and report that weekly with the intension of resuming a modified schedule.
Be provactive!
Don't let them park you in a chair and then ignore you!

It's not extra hours, it's the same amount of hours just reworked in a different way.
I wish it was that simple. It's a small company. I did what I could when I talked to the owner. She acted sympathetic, but in the end she agreed to what the usual boss wanted. I could document everything and it still wouldn't matter to her. She knows what I'm working on because I'm doing the work WITH her. I even sent her a list of the projects she has me working on yesterday, pointing out I wasn't working on anything with my usual boss and I shouldn't be punished for his mistake.
This is what has me so angry. I can't believe he got what he wanted by being illogical!
