It's even better when you hire them and THEN they don't show up.
I swear there is some sort of secret contractor code of conduct where they all agree to take turns fucking sucking ass at being on time, on schedule, or even kinda organized on the business end of things so as to keep customer expectations low.
wawa, exactly. I was just talking to my dad about this yesterday because he spent his career working with builders and contractors. For all of his experience, he has never found a good explanation for why they pull this nonsense. I'm giving up and going about my day at this point. Watch this fool show up just as I'm about to head out the door.
Yup. The only thing you can do is show up an hour late when it's time to pay him. LOL! Sorry he's such d-bag. I hate people who don't value other people's time. An appointment is an appointment! Anyone more than 20 min late is unaccountable in my book. If he can't be there when he says he will then he shouldn've set the time to when he CAN show up. (ok vent over).
I generally do not hire them - no matter how good their extimate is. When they treat you that way prior to doing work, they will only treat you worse when they have your deposit money.
For general work (not an estimate) I let them know that MY time is also valuable and I expect them to show up when they say or call to inform me ahead of time that they are running late. I no longer deal with people who cannot follow thru . ETA: CALL them NOW - remind them of the appointment time and let them know they NEED to arrive ASAP.
I waited an hour and twenty minutes and then left and went about my day. It was merely a consultation/estimate meeting so he doesn't have a dime of mine, thankfully. Needless to say I won't be calling to reschedule.
