Thank you for your assistance in looking at my HPT photos yesterday. It seems I was indeed pregnant, but for a very short time. I started bleeding more heavily last night and cramping, and the HPT was negative this morning. So it seems pretty clear it was an early miscarriage, around 19-20 days after conception (going by my O date, confirmed with OPKs and temps). I called my doctor's office, and the nurse took my information. They will call back and let me know if there is a reason to come in, I guess to check and make sure everything passed.
This is upsetting, especially because I was really looking forward to telling my H, but I already knew it probably wasn't going to stick when I told him. But, on the other hand, this was our 5th cycle trying and I have had concerns about LPD (it is consistently 8 days), so just the fact I could actually get pregnant was somewhat positive. When I spoke with the nurse, I told her I had been charting and had identified a LPD. That, combined with the time we have been trying, my age (31) and this early miscarriage, she thought it was likely I could do a general fertility consult with my doctor. I was about to call and see if I could schedule this anyway, so I guess it works out.
Question - I didn't really think to ask the nurse - so does this mean I am on my period now? I am trying to figure out when to end the last cycle, and start CD 1, for purposes of charting my next cycle.
I am probably going to delete the contents of my other post, so I don't have to be reminded of my positive tests.
So sorry to hear this. I would probably count the newest bleeding as CD1, but I would start using OPKs based on your first bleeding, just to be sure I didn't miss the surge.
((Hugs)) - I'm sorry. Did you tell your H? I'd imagine he would offer great comfort and support at this time.
Thank you all. I appreciate it. My H is very supportive (though he says he has to stay strong for me, not sure what that means, ha!). I wanted to wait and tell him tonight over our Valentine's dinner, but once I started to have issues last night, I told him. Hopefully the next time it will be sticky and my announcement to him can be more exciting!
As a further update, my doctor is having me do a blood test tomorrow just to confirm things. I also was able to get a consult set up with her in 2 weeks to discuss my cycles, LPD, etc. I was surprised I could get in that soon, so I guess it kind of worked out to have all this happen to push me to get an appointment.
