Since Dh and I moved into our first home and we have a lot of furniture to buy, we decided that we wanted to build a lot of it ourselves. We've both done some wood working before, but it's been a long time and never without my dad or grandpa hanging out with me. So we started last weekend and began with a small, slender bookcase that will also serve as a tv stand in our bedroom. Here it is. We still need to putty and paint it this next weekend, but we couldn't wait to bring it in and see how it worked. Ideally we would have made it a bit deeper, but once we get a nightstand in there too it will be really tight quarters so I wanted something slender. We will probably secure it to the wall since we will have the tv up there. Originally we were going to mount the tv, but I didn't want to mess with all the cords, etc. Plus now, this will be a nice accent piece in the room to decorate around.
Small step in the bedroom transformation. (Behind the tv are two of my four paint choices....I posted about my grey choices earlier this week!)
