If you remember my gross butt pic of Linus from 3 weeks ago, the poor guy STILL has diarrhea. It's been officially 3 weeks and 2 days. We're talking alllll day long diarrhea. His butt has finally healed for the most part. A few of the spots keep opening back up, but not to the extent it was. More just normal diaper rash now. We've spent over $300 in butt cream alone! We've been getting up every 3 hours overnight to change him. He needs more, but he was getting so screwed up from not getting any stretches of sleep. On top of the diarrhea he still has vomiting as well. For instance tonight, he was eating dinner great- pasta and eggplant parm- took a drink of water and out everything came. everything. We're not talking a little bit of puke here. He's lost 3 lbs and was already pretty skinny. He just has no/little appetite and is constantly freaking pooping. Anyhow, the pedi has no idea and said that 2 weeks is kind of their average cutoff for normal viral diarrhea. So we're making the trek in to get an abdominal xray. Cross your fingers they don't have to sedate him lol.

oh my god, that poor baby! i am so sorry have they thought of giving him some probiotics to restore some balance in his gut or is it too early for that? man... that sounds like a nasty virus! i hope he gets better soon!
We went through something similar when Micah was 3. We found out he developed a lactose intolerance. The doctor was surprised that it came out of nowhere.

Oh my gosh, poor Linus, I've been wondering about his poor little bum! I'm so sorry for all of you that this is still going on, and hopefully you get some answers today, with as little stress on Linus as possible. I am sending healthy vibes and hoping for some resolution for you all! Hugs!
Thanks so much everyone. I'm not sure when we'll hear anything but I'll update when we do. He's been on probiotics since I think the beginning if week 2. We also cut out all dairy when it first started and we did BRAT and it didn't do any good. He's always been slightly intolerant- to the point he can do some cheese and yogurt but no actual cows milk. If anything it seems like it may have gotten a bit better when we've upped the cheese
Wow, poor thing! I hope they figure out what's wrong. I had diarrhea for several weeks one time and it ended up being from an antibiotic that I had taken weeks before that. I had c.difficile and everything went right through me. But I was not puking. Did they sample his poop? Keep us posted!
