has anyone ever gotten a positive first response early response test (i.e., obvious, if faint second line) and then, that same day, a negative first response digital test? i know that the digital tests overall can be a little less sensitive/better to use later on, but this is the same brand of test. 10dpo, if that helps.

With my BFP, I got a positive FRER the evening of the IVF equivalent of 11dpo, then a negative the next morning on a FRER, then a clear positive that night. I didn't test positive in a digital FR test until the evening of the next day at 13dpo.

Yep.
The dye based tests (especially the early response ones) are much more sensative than the digital ones. If you're using the digital with anything other than first morning urine and it's really early, you'll probably end up with a negative.
Oh, Cville I am thinking so many positive thoughts for you. I agree with the others - digital tests can be less reliable this early on than dye tests. I'm traveling so I won't be around tomorrow until late but I hope you'll update us.

I wouldn't think much about it. It's so early you could just have more diluted urine the second time. Was the first test with first morning urine?
A few years ago, most of the digital tests were able to detect a level around 50-100 of whatever unit it is they use to measure HGC when the more sensitive standard tests detected a level of 25.
At 10 DPO a lot of tests are only about 50-70% accurate depending on brand. Do you use FF? They have a breakdown of accuracy of test by brand for each DPO.
Try again with FMU tomorrow:-) FX for you Cville!!!!
i've now taken 7 tests total. i'm spending all of my alcohol budget on pregnancy tests, since i HOPE i won't need any.
after the 2 confusing ones (postive FRER, negative digital), i took another FRER yesterday and got a positive. then this morning (12dpo), i took an FRER as a precursor to maybe taking another digital, and it was negative. the negative one this morning was in the same two-pack as the negative digital from earlier (it was that "test and confirm" pack, which, bite me). so, convinced it was a bad batch of tests, i took TWO MORE dye tests, both faintly positive. THEN i took clearblue digital and it said PREGNANT.
seriously. all of my money is going to pregnancy tests.
i'm cautiously optimistic and trying not to freak out with excitement because this could just be any number of things, but i feel like 5-2 is pretty good. i have a call into my OB/GYN to schedule and appointment for "early bloodwork" (i have no idea what this means).
