Can I make a new rule?
If your husband (or wife) is deployed, on unaccompanied orders or TDY for an extended period of time, you are not allowed to get a stomach virus--especially if you have kids.*
I am hating life right now, this weekend sucks. I woke-up Saturday morning to the sound of LO vomiting in my bed. Awesome. Sunday late afternoon, I come down with it. And now, it's 5:30am Monday, I'm through the worst of it but I can' sleep. Ugh.
I'm starting to dread long weekend. MLK weekend I came down with an ear infection and now, Presidents' weekend, this. I think LO and I are going to hide out for Easter weekend. I am thankful that its not a long weekend for Germans. I will be sending LO to kindergarten so that I can sleep. He's fine. He bugged me yesterday for chips and salsa until I relented. He's fine. Me? Not so much.
* My sweet boy came into the bathroom just after I'd gotten sick. He found me to be a hot mess--crying and, no doubt, pale as a sheet. He assured me that I'd be okay, that he'd take care of me and that he was my daddy (because daddies take good care of people). He then ran off to get me a goobie (one of his beloved security items). Sweet kid's likely going to need therapy after seeing me in such a state.

Thanks ladies. I am feeling better today, but despite 11 hours of sleep, I'm headed up for a nap.
I asked DH to set up a FaceTime meeting for me with the Secretary of the Army to discuss my new rule. I hope he knew that was a joke, otherwise I'll look like one of those crazy women!
