I ran out of my prenatals that I take from Target and got a new bottle. The new bottle smells like I opened a can of sardines . They make me want to puke now, so I can imagine when I am pregnant I will puke. My last bottle did not smell fishy at all. The good thing is I haven't burped up any fishiness. I read both of the bottles last night and they have the same exact ingredients. I don't know why these are so gross and stinky.
Do you take the gummy ones? I got a new bottle last week and they smell AWFUL. The bottle lasts long enough that I am thinking the others did too, but it wears off as you take more of them and then by the time you finish the bottle you forget how bad they smelled? lol

My skin has been horrible lately - I figured it was post pill adjustment. But maybe it's the DHA? My Nature Made ones don't smell fishy. I'd probably take the vitamins back ($$$) and get new ones or store credit.

They aren't gummy ones. The last bottle smelled nothing like fish and they were the exact same ones. I'm going to toss them. I also have been getting bad zits, so I wonder if it's from the DHA?
I thought my acne was from getting off the pill but it was really really bad-like some days I didn't want to leave the house. I switched prenatals and it got so much better. For those of you with acne, it may be from getting off the pill or the dha. I would try a different prenatal and see.

Now I am using Prenate Elite, prescribed by my obgyn. It is $$$ with my hsa because I don't have a co-pay, but there is a coupon on the website and I am going to hit my deductible anyways this year. IMO it is cheaper than going to see a derm and getting on cheaper medication for that. I asked my doctor for some samples. Some made me feel queasy and these worked out the best.

I was taking the pink Target ones. I started getting really dry patches of skin on my face, so I switched to products with no dyes/fragrances. Helped a little. I noticed my vitamin had a lot of food coloring in it, so I stopped taking it, and my skin cleared up some. I tried taking a prenatal without dye in it (nature made), but the dry skin got worse. Now I only take a folic acid pill. Not really sure what is in the vitamin that makes my skin go crazy- there is no fish oil in them. I took a regular multi-vitamin for years and was fine.

Crap. That's exactly what I'm taking, and I thought the skin issues were just from going off the pill. :-(

Dry skin is still there, but not as red and scale-ly. I do put a lot of aquaphor on it, but it did seem to get less red after I stopped the vitamin. I hope your issues clear up soon and they are just from coming off the pill!
I take prenexa which is a perscription prenatal - it doesn't have a fishy smell and I am pretty sure it has DHA. Any skin issues seem to happen right after I O...the wonderful effects of progesterone!
Mine don't have a fishy smell. I do have acne right now but I attribute it to being on my period and not my vitamins. They're also non-constipating iron so bonus there. I take Prenatal One Advanced Multivitamin.

Huh. My skin has been fine in general (acne, but that's been the norm for the last 20 years! :-( ), but my lips have been super dry since around the time I switched to those. Nothing has helped. I'm almost out and planning to pick up whatever Costco carries this weekend, though.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!

Let me know if you see any improvement. I may try regular vitamins again, or maybe gummies- see if it really is the vitamin contributing to it.
Does anyone take the gummy prenatals from Costco? The Vitafusion brand? I've been thinking about picking some up, but I was curious about how gentle they are on your stomach compared to regular prenatals. Better or worse? (FTR: I've never taken a prenatal, I've just read on here about how they can be rough on your stomach).
