treedimensional, I have two basils, a thyme, and a rosemary. They're not in the best of shape right now. Thinking I might need fertilizer? No? Any suggestions on what I can do to pep them up a little?

Those don't really lend themselves well to indoor conditions, because the indoor climate is all wrong. They want much more intense light, sustained over a much longer daily duration, than they are probably getting. Fertilizer can't substitute for this. Remember that fertilizers don't directly feed the plant. They're to correct nutrient deficiencies in SOIL. Plants make their own food through photosynthesis. If they look scrawny, I would try to provide more sunlight. You should never use fertilizer without first testing the soil to determine whether a nutrient deficiency exists.
