I think it's more about how a person wears it. I would also say that at a certain age (and I think it varies for each person), super long hair starts to look odd.
But, what do I know. I started chopping my hair before I turned 30, much to H's chagrin. Heh.
I agree. I do think there comes a time when most people look younger with shorter hair. I think I look much younger with longer hair now, but will probably cut it into my forties.

That time came for me at 30
Seriously, you are ADORABLE with short hair. I love your hair on you, it really suites you. Very few can pull off hair that short, and you definitely can.

I think it's not just hair upkeep and texture, but also the overall style and the style of the long hair. If you're trying to rock a Farrah Fawcett 'do at 70, you might just be too old for that.
I don't think there is a cutoff. My mom is 59 with shoulder length hair, and she looks much better (and younger) than when she was 40 with a short mom cut. I say, whatever works best for you!

Ok, I kinda love you for stroking my ego. I did get some "it makes you look so young" comments. It's weird, you spend your youth trying to look older and one day you're striving to look the way you used to

Lucky DOES look adorable. But I disagree with the sentiment. I am looking at pictures of myself last year and I looked 5 years older with my pixie cut than I do now.
I have my hair long again after a few years of short bob cuts. It's been long for about a year now and I'm starting to get the itch to cut it again, but I'm afraid of totally regretting it when all is said and done.
I don't think a woman can be too old for long hair even if she's 90.
My grandmother had waist length hair but she wore it in a bun during the day and took it down at night when she went to bed. She had beautiful hair.
As long as the hair is clean and healthy age has no bearing on it.
My yiayia cut her hair (herself, omg) 5 years ago and we all gasped in shock. She said her bun was bothering her. I loved seeing the long white hair when she let it down but she found it too heavy and uncomfortable, even though she had very thin hair.

Seriously. luckyval you're pretty much the reason I like to keep it short and cannot grow it out. I love seeing other women with pixies.
And as long as the hair is healthy, there isn't an age limit.
Yes, this is my thought. Right now, my hair is down to a bit above my elbows, and I don't intend to keep it that long forever, but I hope to put off the "old lady 'do" for as long as possible.
I remember when I was little, I thought Crystal Gayle had the most beautiful hair evvvvvar. Now I look at it and think, 'someone sneak in some scissors!" lol.
