I have PCOS and losing weight is just a total battle. PCOS or not, I know it's still hard for many -- but I spring back up the scales like nobody's biz unless I am on a crazy, almost unsustainable workout regime. It's has to come down to better food management, I think.
I've been on WW all my life. It's just not cutting it bc I'll just eat my points in carbs (especially sweets). I'm not a fad dieter nor do I try a ton of different diets. Just WW for 10 freaking years. But nothing is moving lately bc I cheat like a mofo and I'm always hungry.
I work out 5 days a week. It varies, especially when I'm training for a tri sprint (which I am def not right now), but right now it's lift 2x a week and walk to and from the gym on those days, a step/strength class (or bike) and two intense yoga classes.
I don't know where to start. I'm such a snacker -- I'm confused about snacking in paleo. I don't know the difference between paleo and primal.
Please point me in the books for dummies direction.
Sorry this is all over the place.
We did our first paleo meal (chicken/cilantro/butter lettuce recipe pp posted on h&f) and I made baked apples tonight. Both were awesome and didn't require a ton of planning...but breakfast and lunch seem more daunting.

I'm not going to lie, it's not easy at first! It's an entire lifestyle change and it takes a good amount of planning and cooking (obviously). I have done WW in the past as well. Paleo isn't as "easy" as grabbing a 100 calorie pack for a snack.
If you're serious about making this your new liftstyle, maybe you could start with one meal per day and make it paleo. Sounds like you've got dinner down, so why not make all your dinners paleo for the rest of the week. Slowly add in the other meals and snacks and you're done!
If you're like me, I need something somewhat extreme to get going. I did Whole9's Whole30 challenge. Google Whole30. Basically it's just eating strict paleo for 30 days and they give you a guide on how to get starting. Kind of like detoxing your body off of sugars/grains. It's actually pretty amazing what happens during those 30 days.
Go to snacks for us: hard boiled egg & fruit/veggie (nitrate free) deli meat with avocado & baby carrots Steve's Original PaleoKit (stevesoriginal.com)
Lunch is almost always leftovers or a salad. It's a good idea to cook up a bunch of chicken and have it available. Breakfast is always eggs with spinach, zucchini, onion & avocado. Sometimes we have bacon too. I actually haven't become sick of eating eggs (been paleo since January).
I'm a sugar addict too, and I've found the trick is to just stop eating it (in your regular diet, I do have a cupcake on occasion but definitely not regularly). When I even go back to eating dried fruit or too much regular fruit I start craving ice cream again. I have learned I just have to keep most fruits as a rare treat (especially dried fruit).
Some books: The Paleo Solution by Robb Wolf Everyday Paleo by Sarah Fragoso ^^ they both have blogs too. Google their names.
Recipes are all over the place online and pinterest.
Thanks bl1, that's helpful. What about coffee? I'm a creamer/splenda girl. Aside from that, it's just water and an occasional diet ice tea. I know fake sweeteners are a no.
That's a lot of eggs!
I know what you mean about the extreme. There was a time that WW was actually extreme...
Yes, I think it's putting a total kaboosh on sweets. Sucks ass.

I drink coffee. I drink pastured, organic, heavy whipping cream in it. It's really good. It makes it creamy! Whipping cream is on the fine line because it comes from a cow but it's really mostly fat, so not a lot of dairy protein. I can tolerate dairy well, so drinking it once a day doesn't bother me. Yes, drop the splenda!
We just started doing another whole30 June 1. I started blogging every day about what we're eating if you'd like to follow along! Blog link in siggy.

I transitioned into Paleo very slowly. First I stopped eating dairy and oats due to finding out I was allergic. Then I started eating more veggies, I aimed for at least one cup at every meal, even breakfast. I started eating five small meals a day. Then I cut out grains, and once I got used to that I cut out beans!
For breakfast you can have bacon, sausage (my grocery store Carries organic all natural sausage links) or any other meat with veggies, it doesn't even have to be breakfasty. For lunch I have a bunch of pre cooked steak or chicken portioned out and I just heat that up with some frozen veggies or some veggies I cooked at home.
