Pledge Revatlizing Wood Treatment. I used it on my kitchen cabinets last night and they're all new looking, rich in color and shiny again. They were looking dull and dry from use and winter and they look good this morning. Note: The stuff doesn't clean, so if you're cabinets are dirty dishsoap water first.
Samsung Galaxy II. I just got a new smartphone last week and I love. Good picture quality, easy to navigate and the sound quality on the phone rocks. My last smartphone which I thought was fine, really sucked compared to this.
Rants:
The girls at work are all into the "Swiffer" knockoff floor cleaner Pinterest recipe. It was a cup of vinegar. 2 Cups water. 1 cup rubbing alcohol. 2 drops dishsoap. Simple and relatively safe enough right? I got home and tried it out and ick..ick..icky. I can't say it didn't clean well. My floors have never been this shiny, streak free and spotless. It really got the ground in stuff out that my usually fast mopping doesn't. However, I was high as a kite. Wayyyyy too much alcohol in that recipe. It practically took my breath away. I'll use the chemicaled up Mr. Clean with Febreeze and Extra Floral Scent added before I use that again. I might try it one more time, but with only like a 1/4 cup alcohol.

@justdairy - I'd been considering that pinterest recipe ... would it be ok if the windows were open, do you think?
Rant: I'm not sure if this is aimed at CA or SW. Due to environmental legislation/requirements, we can't get the same oil-based paint everyone else has out here. It's a different formulation. I did an "alkyd" primer on our kitchen cabinets and watched as, in sections, it literally beaded up (this is despite cleaning the cabinets - thoroughly - with TSP and THEN sanding/tack clothing them). When I asked SW, they were all "well, it's technically a water-based paint due to the environmental requirements here. Can you drive to Nevada and get the good stuff for next time?" O.o Fortunately, the latex paint covered the oil-based pretty well and I didn't have any bleed-through issues after the second coat of paint. But still. DANG.
Rave: Contact grip liner. HD carries this stuff in 16 foot long rolls and I spent all of last night running around lining cabinets in the new house. Easy to cut, lays flat, stays in place ... I see no downside to this stuff!
Mrs. J: It'd probably okay...it's the dead of winter here so it's not an option. I admittedly have my own issues with rubbing alcohol smell..lol..so that's probably part of it. That and 1 cup is a lot of alcohol in a 4 cup swiffer holder thing anyways. Watered down it'd probably work just as well. I can't say it didn't work..it was rather fabulous actually. My MIL told me to use some cheap vodka instead. I might try that next time..less smell.

I got a Shark Steam Mop from my aunt and I can't figure the damn thing out. Seriously, the instructions look simple (Fill it with water, plug it in, pump the handle to make steam and then mop) but I can't get it to work.
Magic eraser. I know, I know. It's been aroun but I never thought I needed it. I've been scrubbing everything with it though - like doors and moulding - and I won't need to repaint some of that stuff because of it. I always thought it was for scrubbing crayon off the walls.
I'm totally with you on the magic eraser. I got a box of them as part of a wedding shower gift...and just decided to bust one out last weekend and I was really impressed. lol, I went all around the house too and really cleaned up the kitchen especially the fridge door and handles. I figured the name "magic eraser" was hyped up because these things always are so I was really surprised. If only I had tried them like 5 years ago when I first got them. Sheesh.
I have a few raves. The combo of a microfiber mop and Method Almond Floor cleaner on my hardwood floor and razor blades. Also, VeryJane.com. My new years resolution was to make my life more fun w/ small cute things and that site totally does the trick.
Random rave here for Spacebags. lol I just used them when packing for our vacation and we were able to condense everything down to 1 suitcase and 1 carry on, for a week, for both DH and I. (DD had a separate carry on but her stuff is tiny). We also lucked out and missed the overweight bag fee by 1 pound. lol It was great, too, because I filled one of them back up with dirty laundry to keep it separated.
Rant: Valspar paint. I have so many issues with it! I find it hard to clean (as in, when I try to clean it, the sheen is altered or paint is completely wiped off?) I contacted Valspar and they claim that it never fully cured correctly because of humidity levels and that if I do decide to repaint I can get a free can as compensation. It's been 8 months now, how is it not cured? Needless to say, i'm very disappointed. Our entire house is painted with it and 3/4 of it is in the same color (that we had a pro painter come and do for us because of the stairways and tall ceilings). No way in repainting walls or having the painter come back and redo them.
